In the 1st two centuries AD, the Roman Empire grew quickly through conquest, wars and enslavement. All the wealth that accrued from these conquests made there way back to Rome—There is truth in the statement that: “ All roads lead to Rome…” During this time there were many emperors—good and bad—and many were assassinated.
